Hemorrhoids have affected both my parents and my aunt. All three of them eventually had to undergo surgery not once, but several times. This gave me quite a scare. If both my parents and my aunt were afflicted with this, chances are, I will be too!
Surgery is a scary word now matter how you try to cushion it. Hemorrhoid surgery sounds particularly frightening. The way it’s spelled alone gives me the shivers.
I remember when my parents kind of murmured about their pains when I was younger, but it never really registered what is was about until I was a lot older. I didn’t really know what hemorrhoids were until I was graduated from high school. Pretty naive. And the more I learn about it, the more it scares me! It’s not a simple thing you can take care. It can be a lifelong affliction. I’m a scaredy-cat, and any type of pain scares. To know you can experience immense pain down in that area…. it’s a scary thought.
So I’ve convince myself to take care of my body before it takes care of me! Readers, beware!
